Our veneers are made of durable, stain-resistant porcelain. Unlike composite veneers, this dental porcelain matches the color and translucence of natural teeth. The porcelain material is also much longer-lasting.
When possible, our Arlington dental office uses IPS e.max® for its veneers. This type of material is especially durable, and closely matches the look of natural tooth enamel.

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin to conceal cosmetic flaws. While effective, the resin is not as durable as the porcelain used to craft a custom veneer.
Teeth whitening can bleach away stains on the tooth surface. However, whitening treatment is ineffective on deep or intrinsic stains. Veneers can cover major discoloration.

How Long Does It Take? Veneers Treatment Time
It typically takes about two weeks to complete the porcelain veneers process. This gives the lab time to fabricate the custom shells. However, we can complete the process faster in some cases, sometimes as soon as overnight. We can discuss treatment timelines in more detail during your consultation at our Arlington, VA, practice.
How Long Do Veneers Last?

On average, porcelain veneers last approximately 10 years with proper care. You can extend the life of your veneers if you are especially good about oral hygiene and checkups.
